Policy
NOAA small boat policies are primarily based on two documents, NOAA Administrative Order 209-125: NOAA Small Boat Safety Program, and the NOAA Small Boat Standards and Procedures Manual (SBSPM).
In addition, Supplemental Small Boat Policies (SSBP) are locally-created or line office-specific policies that address issues above and beyond what is covered in the SBSPM.
Small Boat Operations Manuals (SBOM) are boat-specific manuals which compile instructions, procedures, regulations, and guidelines derived from that boat's annual risk assessment.
